Using Our Imagination, Starting To Build

If you’ve been following our recent articles, you’ll have seen some of the ways we’re working towards our mission of equality. For us, it’s a combination of vision and action. For example, can you imagine a workplace where:

• You are valued for who you are, not just what you do.

• You are trusted, believed and listened to.

• You are treated equally, always.

• Work works for you, not the other way round.

• Money isn’t the only value exchange.

• People first always means people first.

That’s the kind of workplace we’ve created together at Mission Equality, and we’d like everyone to have the same experience. 

We’ve learned that some of the skills that help to create an oasis of equality include emotional management, visionary thinking, communication, change management, leadership and of course a commitment to achieving equality, and having the conversations needed to do that. 

Educating For Equality

Very few of us (if any) have lived experiences of equality or a clear vision of what it looks like; nor how we can even begin to achieve it. And we’re not taught the skills we need to create it. That’s why we’ve created the Equaliversity -  a virtual university – accessible from anywhere with an internet connection – designed specifically for organisations to equip their people with the skills needed to develop and nurture a culture and a workforce with equality at the core.

Here’s what we have planned in the next 12-18 months or so:

• Foundations Of Equality Programme (to get everyone to the same starting line)

• Path To Equality Programme (for everyone in an organisation)

• Mx Of Equality Programme (for senior leadership teams)

• Future Of Equality Curriculum (for young people)

Creating Equality Alliances

We’re also creating prototypes of equality by inviting organisations that are truly committed to and working toward equality to form collectives - Equality Alliances. We’ll share more about those soon. We believe that with the growth of each collective and the impact they have, we can establish a viable alternative to capitalism, that we call Equalism.
